August Brandon
August Fulton Designer by choice Tailor by gift. Serious about a fashion career, August moved to Charlotte, N.C. in 2009 to pursue an education in Fashion and Marketing at the Art Institute of Charlotte. Battling Financial issues, August was unable to remain enrolled in the education that would lead him to his dream.
Without the structure of the classroom to learn a skill, most people would give up on a dream that required the absolute mastery of a specific skill set. Not August. He became his own educator, teaching himself the art of sewing and the techniques of design with nothing but an image in his mind, a sewing machine and the basic sewing skills learned from grade school economics.
When he began to create his garments, August’s sewing skills were novice at best. While the outside of his designs were flawless, the insides, as he says, were a total mess. Through trial and error he obtained the skills to design some of the most incredible pieces, with the help of a trusted source. According to the designer, God helped guide his hand, hone his skill and blessed him with an incredible talent that would lead him to success.
This success manifests itself in the designers clothing line, named “August Brandon”. He has been recognized by many and continues to create stylish attire for men. August surprised the fashion industry with his unique approach. H offers classic Italian cuts, but combines them in a creative manner or uses striking colors and prints to make them stand out. Business suits worn with colorful, decorated shirts and ties honor the tradition if Italian tailoring, taking him a step further into the young and progressive fashion of today.
His main focus of today is designing marketable pieces that could be sold out of department stores, such as Dillard’s and Nordstrom, in all sizes. While his sizes are inclusive, so too are his prices, as the designer understands economic circumstances. His line is pocket-friendly, priced from $65 to $350. August envisions eventually branching off into men’s leisure attire and urban wear, women formal dress and children’s clothing. With the love to style shop his audience and clients are constantly growing. August see’s his clothing line as a worldwide brand in just a few short years.
Although this spiritually grounded, laid-back and fun loving guy has accomplished the unthinkable, he still gets nervous and self-conscious of his own his own work. It took the designer some time to see the quality in his creations. He only wants to create the best, and he definitely has many people that can vouch for his work. What will the unconventional designer come out with next? He has already come so far, and his success continues to look promising. While August is one of the hottest months of the year; August Fulton hopes to be one of the hottest fashion designers of his time.
