In her community she is a philanthropist and activist. Dr. Flowers was a founding board member and former Board Chair of Charlotte Secondary School, a public middle school of choice. In 2011, she teamed up with seven dynamic fundraisers to capture over $174,000 in ten weeks for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Charlotte. Blood cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S.
